Individuals born in the years of Bingzi and Dingchou belong to the Streamside Water element in the Na Yin Five Elements system. This water resembles a mountain stream—clear and lively (⛰→💧), akin to a waterfall from melting snow or a flowing channel connecting north and south, embodying the balanced energy of yin and yang (Kan and Li). It benefits from Metal to nourish it, with Sand Metal and Sword Tip Metal being most suitable. However, Hairpin Gold encountering Gengxu or Dingchou is unfavorable (due to the conflict between Chou and Xu), while Xinhai meeting Bingzi can form the noble pattern "Bing-Xin Transforms into Water" 🔥→💧. Other metals should be assessed in conjunction with the Lu positions and noble deities in the destiny chart—while Metal generating Water is generally beneficial, it can be harmful if it clashes with or overwhelms the water's energy.
🌿 Wood: A small amount is harmless, but excessive Wood leads to toil (Wood drains Water's energy), requiring the harmonizing influence of noble deities, Lu, or Ma.
⛰ Earth: Most Earth types muddy the water (Earth overcomes and dirties Water), unless Wood can neutralize Earth's influence (Wood overcomes Earth to protect Water), which can turn misfortune into fortune. Sand Earth and Roof Earth have milder effects, while Roadside Earth and Great Station Earth cause severe turbidity, easily leading to financial loss or disaster 🔥💸. If encountering the "Earth formation" of Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei, the negative effects double (Water and Earth mix into stagnation).
🔥 Fire: The Sun Fire (Bingwu) has a dialectical relationship with Water, embodying "Completion/Incompletion." Thunderbolt Fire (Wuzi, Jichou) directly clashes and is most to be avoided. If Fire is strong without Metal to control it, it can lead to indulgence and dissipation (Fire exhausts Water's energy), though the presence of Metal mediation alters this. Mountain Base Fire (Bingshen) and Mountain Top Fire (Jiaxu) are relatively mild but still require caution when appearing together.
💧 Water: Meeting the same type can lead to flooding (excess Water causes drifting). Encountering Heavenly River Water elevates the pattern (lifting the ordinary to the sacred 🌊↑), while meeting Ocean Water is like all rivers returning to their source (gathering fortune and nobility 🌊🌊), both being auspicious. The exception is Dingchou meeting Renxu, as "Chou-Xu Clash + Ding-Ren Combination" easily invites disputes (relationship confusion ⚠️). Great Stream Water (Jiayin, Yimao) is impetuous, and Long Flowing Water (Renchen, Guisi) is turbulent—neither is an ideal match.
Core Principle: The value of Streamside Water lies in its purity and continuous flow 🔥❤️💧. If the destiny chart avoids impurities from Fire and Earth and gains support from Jiayin or Yimao Great Stream Water (living water tracing to its source), it can cultivate a noble and virtuous character.

Streamside Water reveals the wisdom of "flexibility and purity" in survival:
Water turns when meeting mountains, becomes turbid when meeting Earth—in life's difficulties, one must either adapt flexibly (living water) or uphold one's core values (clear stream), both requiring dynamic balance to break through challenges.
