A six-line casting you can inspect from question to judgement

SixYao, also called Liu Yao, is a traditional I Ching method for examining one concrete question. YiMatrix builds six lines from the bottom upward, calculates the Na Jia chart, and keeps the original hexagram, moving lines and changed hexagram visible. Optional AI interpretation comes only after the chart itself has been calculated.

01

Three ways to cast

Use the animated three-coin method, enter three numbers, or record an existing casting manually as 6, 7, 8 and 9. Every method produces the same reviewable six-line structure.

02

Change remains visible

Read the original, changed and palace hexagrams together. Old yin and old yang become moving lines, so the transition is shown beside the starting pattern instead of replacing it.

03

Na Jia relationships

The chart keeps Six Spirits, Six Relations, host and guest positions, hidden spirits, stems and branches, day void and the relevant Zhouyi judgement and line texts in context.

Calculation method

Question, time and every line stay attached to the record

Automatic casting simulates one toss of three coins for each line. Number casting maps the first two numbers to the lower and upper trigrams and the third to the moving line. Manual casting records young yin, young yang, old yin or old yang line by line. All six lines are entered from the first, bottom line to the top line before the Na Jia relationships are calculated.

SixYao calculator questions

Can I cast a SixYao hexagram without signing in?

Yes. You can create and inspect a basic chart in the browser. Guest records remain in that browser; signing in is used for cloud history, intelligent reports and follow-up conversations.

Why are the six lines entered from bottom to top?

A hexagram grows from the initial line at the bottom to the top line. YiMatrix therefore records the first toss as the bottom line and the sixth toss as the top line.

What is a moving line?

Old yin and old yang are moving lines. They belong to the original hexagram and also change polarity to form the changed hexagram, so both the line text and the relationship between the two hexagrams matter.

Does AI calculate or alter the Liu Yao chart?

No. The six-line and Na Jia results are calculated first from the selected method, time and line values. AI is optional and is used only to explain the already calculated chart in relation to the question.
