In the Eastern Five Elements system, Jia (甲) and Yi (乙) Wood symbolize the Azure Dragon (🌳 Wood). "Azure Dragon in Hiding" refers to a pattern where Wood is subdued beneath Metal (⚔️ Metal). Specifically, if a person is born on one of these five days: Jia Shen, Jia Xu, Yi Si, Yi You, or Yi Chou, their Day Pillar (representing the self) sits with Wealth and Career Stars (wealth and status). However, three conditions must be met: the Month Branch (birth month) provides a foundation for support, the Career Star is properly positioned, and there is no interference from the Hurting Officer (a disruptive factor). This ensures a balance of power between Metal and Wood (⚔️ Metal and 🌳 Wood in equilibrium). Among these, those born on a Yi Si day or during a Yi Si hour are prone to secretly diminishing their fortune and longevity due to excessive alcohol consumption, which can be avoided through moderation.
The supplementary verse adds: If Jia or Yi Wood takes root in Shen or You (areas where Metal is strong), encountering the Wood-prosperous spring season 🌱 is most auspicious. If the Four Pillars (year, month, day, hour) receive assistance from a Treasury (e.g., the Earth Treasuries of Chen, Xu, Chou, or Wei), achieving both wealth and career success leads to exceptional fortune.
| Risk Factor | Action Plan | Review Points |
|---|---|---|
| Hurting Officer interference (e.g., impulsive decisions) | Cultivate rational thinking (e.g., meditation or consulting) | Quarterly self-assessment of decision outcomes |
| Lack of Month Branch support (unstable foundation) | Solidify skills or savings plan | Annual review of financial/career progress |
