世伤应位,不拘远近总宜行;应克世爻,无问公私皆不利? 八纯乱动,到处皆凶;两间齐空,独行则吉? 世动订期,变鬼则自投罗网;官临畏缩,化福则终脱樊笼? 静遇日冲,必为他人而去;动逢间合,定因同伴而留? 世若逢空,最利九流出往;土如遇福,偏宜陆地行程? 鬼地墓乡,岂堪践履;财方父向,却可登临?

If one is not a person of wealth and status, how can one simply enjoy glory and luxury? If one pursues fame and gain, it is inevitable to travel far and wide on the road 🌍. But a journey of a thousand miles—can it be completed in a single day or night? Who can foresee the fortune or misfortune encountered along the way? Yet regarding internal calamities and auspices, the spirits have their measure 🔮. The Parent Yao represents luggage 🧳; if afflicted by punishment or restriction, the luggage is prone to damage and becomes unusable. The Wife/Wealth Yao represents travel funds 💰; if flourishing and strong, the funds will be ample and sufficient. If the Self Yao is weak, it will be difficult to endure the hardships of exposure to wind and dew; if the Other Yao is empty/void, it will be hard to expect success in affairs or the fulfillment of plans. If the Intermediary Yao is tranquil, the journey back and forth will be peaceful 🛣️; if the Year Branch (Tai Sui) clashes or restricts, the entire year's movements and stops will be obstructed and chaotic.
If the Self Yao restricts the Other Yao, travel is favorable regardless of distance; if the Other Yao restricts the Self Yao, it is unfavorable for both public and private matters ❌. In the Eight Pure Hexagrams, if all lines are active, it is ominous wherever one goes; if both Intermediary Yao are empty/void, traveling alone is instead auspicious ✅. The Self Yao moving indicates the travel date is set, but if it transforms into an Official/Apparition Yao, it is like walking into a trap oneself; an Official/Apparition Yao in position makes one hesitant, but if it transforms into a Blessing Spirit (Offspring Yao), one can ultimately escape difficulties 🆓. A tranquil Yao encountering a clash from the Day Branch means one is certain to depart due to others; a moving Yao meeting combination with an Intermediary Yao means one is bound to stay due to companions 👥. If the Self Yao encounters emptiness/void, it is most favorable for those of the "Nine Streams" (e.g., merchants, performers) to travel; if an Earth Yao encounters a Blessing Spirit, it is especially suitable for land travel 🚗.
