Children are the foundation of bloodline continuation. Judging offspring conditions requires analyzing the relationship between the Joyous God and the Seven Killings. Traditionally, the Officer Star represents children, but if the Joyous God is the Officer Star, the children will be virtuous and capable. If there is no conflict between the two, it is also favorable; otherwise, it may result in no children, unworthy descendants, or mutual conflicts. In practice, flexible analysis is needed: if the Officer Star is weak, support is required; when the Killing is heavy and the body is light, reliance on the Seal and Comparable elements is necessary; if there is no Officer Star, observe the Wealth Star; if the Officer Star is obstructed, it needs nurturing or stimulation; if the Officer Star is excessively drained, it requires consolidation and assistance; if the Killing is heavy and uncontrolled, it often results in more daughters.
Ren Shi pointed out: The theory that the Officer represents children implies a "rebellion" issue—the Officer symbolizes governance, as the court governs the people, and the family follows paternal authority. If the Officer is regarded as the child, it means the father is governed by the son, violating ethics. Therefore, it was revised to "Food and Injury represent children." Although classics mention phrases like "Food God brings longevity, a wife with many children," destiny analysis rejects dogma. First, confirm the Food and Injury, then combine it with the Day Master's strength and the four pillars' preferences for a comprehensive judgment. "The Joyous God connected with the Killing" embodies this adaptive essence.
The quantity and quality of children depend on the balance of the Five Elements:
Special Cases: A strong Day Master without a Seal, with hidden Food and Injury and Officer/Killing → many children; a strong Day Master with many Comparable elements and no Seal, hidden Food and Injury → many children (due to "excessive mother extinguishing the child," e.g., too much wood stifles fire, but metal克制 wood反而生火). Superficially using the Officer/Killing, but fundamentally relying on Food and Injury, reflects the principle of "reverse restraint and mutual generation." Final conclusion: When the body is strong, Wealth represents children; when the body is weak, Seal acts as children. The Useful God represents children, while the Taboo God represents daughters.
This chart features a strong Day Master (戊土) with many Comparable elements, and the Year/Month pillars reveal the Injury Officer with strong roots. The 丑土 stores water and generates metal, while 戌土 warms the chart, indicating a wealthy family. The Western fortune was smooth, predicting many children. Indeed, from age 16, he fathered 16 sons, all healthy and unharmed, as the Seal Star was absent, and the 辛金 remained pure, unaffected by wood or fire.
In this chart, the Killing and Officer dominate, with 甲木 exposed but unable to submit to the Killing. The heavy Killing relies on the Seal but encounters the 卯酉 clash. His legal wife bore eight daughters, and concubines bore another eight, with no sons. This aligns with "when the body is weak, the Seal acts as children," but Wealth spoiled the Seal, resulting in no sons.
戊土 born in the 巳 month (strong fire), 辛金 rootless and克制 by 丁火, the chart is excessively dry with no moisture, and 乙木 intensifies the fire. He lost two wives, and of twelve sons, ten died young, leaving only two.
壬水 born in winter, unperturbed by metal, with the Food God alone exposed. He passed the imperial exams as a scholar and fathered ten successful sons. Without Wealth, he did not克妻, but the lack of wood in the earthly branches limited his official achievements.
辛金 born in the 戌 month, with a strong Seal but Wealth and Officer forming a favorable pattern. Two wives and four concubines bore three sons who all died young, and twelve daughters, of whom nine perished. Autumn metal sustained a prosperous family.
Earth born in summer, with overlapping Seals and no water to moisten the dryness. He lost three wives and five sons. During the 丑运 (damp earth generating metal), one son survived.
Spring wood is vigorous, metal weak and rootless, and 丁火 Injury Officer restrains 辛. Early子嗣不育破财, but later, during fire运, he gained five sons and a thriving family. This proves the Useful God is the child star—if fire is the Useful God, children are likely during wood/fire运 or years, or the offspring's Bazi features abundant wood/fire.
In summary, the theory that Food and Injury represent children is validated. The number of children is determined by the Five Elements' counts (water 1, fire 2, wood 3, metal 4, earth 5), doubled when in season, halved when dormant, with the rest attributed to individual differences.
Judging children requires transcending the ethical contradiction of "Officer as children," focusing on Food and Injury as the core, combined with the Day Master's strength and the Five Elements' interactions. Emphasizing the dynamic balance of "when the body is strong, Wealth represents children; when weak, the Seal acts as children," it rejects rigid rules, advocating the adaptive thinking of "the Joyous God connected with the Killing."
| Chart Feature | Action Advice | Review Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Heavy Seal, light Food/Injury | Delay生育, enhance nutrition | Pre-pregnancy health tracking |
| Many Comparable elements, no Food/Injury | Quantify亲子互动 (10h+/week) | Assess child's社交能力 |
Destiny reveals "balance as传承"—e.g., "母多灭子" (excessive wood stifles fire) warns against overprotection扼杀independence. Modernly, it elevates: children are not "continuation tools" but life force流动, requiring parents to balance restraint (Officer/Killing) and放手 (Food/Injury).
