However, some individuals have all six palaces—Destiny, Body, Wealth, Travel, Career, and Virtue—strong, yet their current Major Cycle (Da Xian) happens to pass through the Punishment, Imprisonment, Depletion, Jealousy, Void, and Calamity stars in idle or fallen positions, or encounters the Four Baleful Stars. This is deemed a flaw in fine jade—beautiful yet insufficient, with the destiny's value greatly diminished, and judgment must be rendered by the standard of a medium-grade pattern.

One whose Destiny receives the presence of Longevity (Chang Sheng), Imperial Prime (Di Wang), and Official Advancement (Lin Guan) (as life-stage stars), further enhanced by multitudes of auspicious stars guarding and shining upon them, will inevitably prosper in the end.
For military personnel, the favorable configuration is the co-presence of Bo Shi (Doctor), Qing Long (Azure Dragon), and Jiang Jun (General) in the Destiny and Body Palaces, without any evil stars pressing in opposition or clamping. Generally, when the Destiny and Body are auspicious and the Career Palace is likewise auspicious, then even if the Wealth Palace lacks perfection, it mostly indicates income from public or private employment, with no concern for food and clothing. When the Wealth Palace is beautiful but the Career Palace is inauspicious, it mostly indicates an ordinary commoner—a merchant or craftsman—who likewise need not worry about sustenance. If in either case the Travel Palace is inauspicious, it merely indicates lifelong toil, difficulty in relating to others, a commonplace inability to thrive, and for officials, difficulty in receiving promotion.
Only when both the Wealth and Career Palaces lack auspiciousness, and the Travel Palace is likewise inauspicious—even if the Destiny and Body Palaces of the Twelve Offices are both excellent—will one struggle to rise rapidly and achieve what satisfies the heart; worse still, such a person may endure a lifetime of anxiety, dejection, loneliness, and even perpetual poverty and distress.
When the Destiny and Body Palaces are already mixed and lacking in auspiciousness, and the Wealth, Career, and Travel Palaces are likewise all unfavorable—even if the Virtue, Servants, and Parents Palaces are favorable—such a chart must be judged as a lifetime of adversity and disablement, especially severe when the Destiny and Body are guarded or illuminated by Punishment, Jealousy, Depletion, Imprisonment, Death, Extinction, or the Boundary Void, Cyclic Void, Outer Void, Outer Calamity, or Solitary Star and Widow Star.
For men, the key palaces are the nine of Destiny, Body, Wealth, Career, Travel, Virtue, Spouse, Servants, and Siblings—but the six palaces of Destiny, Body, Wealth, Career, Travel, and Virtue are most critical. For women, the significant palaces are Destiny, Body, Virtue, Spouse, Children, Parents, and Siblings—but the four palaces of Destiny, Body, Virtue, and Spouse are of utmost importance.
Regardless of gender, neither the Destiny and Body Palaces nor the Virtue and Travel Palaces should host Seven Killings (Qi Sha). If Seven Killings in the Destiny Palace occupies the Court-Facing or Heaven-Gazing positions (Chao Dou or Yang Dou) yet the chart enters an auspicious pattern, a man may indeed attain wealth and honor for a season, yet things will ultimately turn sour (Note: Yuan Shikai exemplifies the authentic "Seven Killings Facing the Court" pattern, and his sudden demise at age fifty-eight serves as a case in point). When a man encounters the opposing combination of Seven Killings, Breaking Army, Lian Zhen, and Greedy Wolf—even without baleful stars—it signals repeated gains and setbacks; with baleful stars, a lifetime of worry with disasters overlapping one after another and no tranquil days. When the Destiny Palace holds Seven Killings combined with Lian Zhen guarding together, regardless of palace placement, both men and women are deemed unfavorable; the same applies when Destiny and Body each separate between the two stars.
When the Destiny Palace holds Greedy Wolf combined with Lian Zhen together, or when Destiny and Body hold the stars separately, both men and women tend toward licentiousness and depravity. In general, when Greedy Wolf guards the Destiny or Body Palace in idle or fallen positions, one falls deep into wine and lust; for women, total promiscuity is indicated. However, when Literary Brilliance, Literary Virtue, Heaven's Nobility, and Heaven's Excellence, and their co-stars guard and illuminate the Destiny and Body, one must examine whether the Four Baleful Stars break through them, or how the Five Elements generate or overcome in the positions they occupy—because if literary stars suffer baleful punishment or earth (conquering) restraints, they carry no substance of true learning; inversely, the person becomes pretentious, sly, envious, jealous, capricious, and inconstant. When Body sits with Literary Virtue (servant) at Generating positions while Destiny has only Literary Glory flashing in opposition, and the Palaces of Wealth and Travel lack auspiciousness as well, then even with excellence in both calligraphy and painting, one will hardly attain prominence—merely a poor, pure scholar.
When one's Destiny encounters Martial Arts Star (Wu Qu), Greedy Wolf, Fire Star (Huo Xing), and Spark Star (Ling Xing) in temple-bright positions without the conjunction of Void, Calamity, Punishment, Imprisonment, Depletion, or Jealousy: men achieve glorious military careers with both wealth and honor; women act with the authority of their husbands and possess both talent and looks that surpass men's courage.
