夫大运者，以天干曰『五运』，地支曰『六气』，故名『范气』。
子平之法，大运看支，岁君看干，交运同接木。何也？且干支二字，六十甲子之说，用花字；若天干、地支得其时，则自然开花结子盛矣！月令者，天元也，今运就月上起，譬之树苗，树之见苗，则知名；月之用神，则知其格，故谓交运如同接木。然，命有根苗花实者何？正合此意也，岂不宜矣！
出癸入甲，如返汗之人；且如甲戌接癸亥，此乃干支接木。
丑运交寅，辰交巳，未交申，戌交亥，此乃转角接木。
东南西北四方转角，谓之接木；格局凶者死，格局善者灾。
寅卯辰一气，申酉戌一气，亥子丑一气；气之相连，皆非接木之说。
且如甲乙得寅卯运，名曰劫财败财，主剋父母及剋妻、破财争斗之事；行丙丁巳午运，名伤官，主剋子女、讼事、囚繫；庚辛申酉七杀官乡，主得名，发越太过，则灾病恶疾；行壬癸亥子生气印綬运，主吉庆增产；辰戌丑未戊己财运，主名利皆通。此乃死法譬喻，须随格局喜忌推之，不可执一；妙在识其通变，拙说如神。
干旺宜行衰运，干弱宜旺运；正乃干弱求气旺之藉，有餘则不足之营，须要通变。更兼孤害、空亡、勾绞、丧门、吊客、宅墓、病、死、官符、白虎诸杀推之，其验如神。
又一法：阳刃桃花、伏吟返吟、休、囚、死、绝、衰、败者凶。遇帝旺、临官、禄马、贵人、生、养、冠带、库者吉；如空者凶。空者返吉，吉者返凶。
大运不宜与太岁相剋、相冲者凶；更刑、冲、相剋者亦忌。
岁冲剋运者吉；运剋岁者凶，格局不吉者死。
岁运相生者吉，禄马、贵人、合交互者亦吉。
宜仔细推之，无有不应验者矣！
