Overall Paraphrased Meaning
The auspicious and inauspicious correspondences between meteor stars (i.e., annual planetary transits) and one's birth chart manifest as fortune or misfortune over time. Some effects occur on specific days and hours—for instance, when a benefic star enters the major period of one's birth chart or when a malefic star clashes with the natal palace. Others correspond to the five elements of the year, month, day, or hour—for example, Jupiter 🌱 dominates periods corresponding to亥 (Hai), 卯 (Mao), 未 (Wei), 寅 (Yin) years/months/days/hours, while Mars 🔥 dominates 寅 (Yin), 午 (Wu), 戌 (Xu), 巳 (Si) years/months/days/hours, etc.
If aided by benefic stars and noble influences, one may receive promotions, salary increases, or financial gains. If afflicted by malefic stars, officials may face demotions, ordinary people may suffer financial losses 💰, the seriously ill may be in danger, and prisoners may face punishment. These auspicious and inauspicious correspondences often occur as expected.
The so-called "natal stars" refer to the celestial configurations at the time of one's birth 🌌. Analyzing annual transits must incorporate the natal chart: if the natal chart is auspicious and the annual transit is also auspicious, the fortune is amplified; if the natal chart is inauspicious and the annual transit is also inauspicious, the misfortune intensifies. For example, if the annual Mars is a benefic star (benefic influence) and illuminates the life period, the natal chart must already have Mars in the life, body, or major period to manifest its auspicious effects ✅; if the annual Mars occurs during the午 (Wu) month and coincides with the peak of summer fire energy, it is highly auspicious. Conversely, if the annual Jupiter 🌳 is a malefic star (adverse influence) and clashes with the life period, the natal chart must already have Jupiter to trigger severe misfortune; if the annual Jupiter occurs during the卯 (Mao) month and coincides with the peak of spring wood energy, its malefic power multiplies ❌.
However, there are special cases where "misfortune may not manifest": for example, if the life palace is in辰 (Chen), though Mars and Rahu are considered malefic, their annual transit would typically bring misfortune. But if the native is born on a winter night 🌙, Mars may instead warm the chart and even bring wealth; if the natal Rahu is suppressed by Mercury 🌊 or Ketu, the annual transit of Mars and Rahu may also bring no disaster.
Annual fortune and misfortune must be inferred based on the nature of the transiting stars. For example: if the life palace is in亥 (Hai), the ruling star is wood, and the current major period is亥 (Hai), and the annual Tai Sui (Jupiter as the White Tiger煞) resides in the minor period palace of辰 (Chen), it indicates illness or disaster, which does not necessarily require additional Tai Sui interactions to manifest. If the annual transit encounters heavenly or earthly官符 (official misfortune stars) guarding or clashing with the life period, it often brings disputes, gossip, and financial loss; encountering丧门 (Funeral Gate) or吊客 (Mourning Guest) may lead to bereavement and mourning attire.
The influence of annual benefic and malefic stars also depends on their positions in specific stellar degrees, with fortunes and misfortunes inferred monthly. For example: for someone born on June 28th with the life palace in申 (Shen) and currently in a亥 (Hai) major period, the annual Saturn entering亥 (Hai) would typically bring misfortune in June when the monthly pillar combines with亥 (Hai), but it may be delayed until July—due to the annual solar term adjustments aligning with the natal solar terms.
📜 Ancient verse: "Malefic stars are most feared when encountered in annual transits; the fury of their flow brings deeper sorrow. When Tai Sui meets them head-on, disaster is inevitable, and even without apparent calamity, misfortune finds its way."
[Note: Water overcoming fire symbolizes wealth, so those born in winter originally avoid Mars and Rahu, but under special circumstances, they may instead serve to balance the chart.]
Note: This chapter's content should be analyzed in conjunction with a complete personal birth chart. Avoid taking passages out of context. Modern applications should be approached rationally, focusing on trend awareness rather than deterministic conclusions.
