Rideku is a special pattern in Eight Characters (Bazi) fortune-telling, primarily consisting of five specific days: Jia Yin Day, Bing Chen Day, Wu Chen Day, Geng Chen Day, and Ren Xu Day. Individuals born on these days, if the pattern is pure, generally possess abundant blessings. However, they must avoid unfavorable factors such as clashes, conflicts, breaks, and harms, and they also dislike an overly strong Official Star (representing power) and Wealth Star. Additionally, they should steer clear of inauspicious influences like Kong Wang (Empty Death) and Kui Gang (a maleficent star). These are major taboos for the Rideku pattern 🌪.
This pattern favors luck that strengthens the body, as it can bring prosperity and wealth. People with the Rideku pattern are typically kind and gentle 🤲. If multiple Rideku days appear (e.g., multiple instances in the four pillars), blessings and fortunes will be even more abundant. When the luck strengthens the body, the fortune will be exceptionally unique and outstanding 🌟. However, if the four pillars include the presence of Wealth and Official Stars, other patterns must be considered for analysis; otherwise, unexpected disasters may be unavoidable. If the旺盛 energy has already declined and is further challenged by Kui Gang, it could lead to death 💀. Even if prosperity has not yet been achieved, encountering Kui Gang may still bring about misfortunes. Once these unfavorable factors are avoided, luck can flourish again.
An ancient ballad says: Bing Chen Day must avoid seeing Ren Chen; Ren Xu Day must be cautious of Wu Xu. Geng Chen Day fears Geng Xu, and Jia Yin Day must be wary of Geng Chen. This reminds us to avoid encountering maleficent stars like Kui Gang in the four pillars and during luck cycles 🚫.
Additional note: When the Rideku pattern includes a Killing Star, it favors a strong body and dislikes directions where Wealth and Official Stars are strong. The personality is gentle and kind, blessed with both fortune and longevity throughout life, and full of joyful events 🍀.
Note: This pattern忌讳刑冲破害 (clashes, conflicts, breaks, and harms), especially avoiding the Official Star and combinations with Kong Wang. It favors luck that strengthens the body, which can bring prosperity. For example, a Bazi case: Jia Wu Year, Ren Shen Month, Ren Xu Day, Ren Yin Hour. If the four pillars include Wealth and Official Stars, other patterns should be considered for analysis. The Kui Gang luck cycle is particularly忌讳.
Nan Yue: The Rideku pattern consists of five days: Jia Yin, Wu Chen, Bing Chen, Bing Chen, and Ren Xu. Why are they called "De" (virtue)? Without investigating the origin and background, mistakenly calling them Rideku would be an error in the study of Zi Ping (Bazi) 🤔.
The Rideku pattern emphasizes the kind personality and potential for blessings and prosperity of individuals born on specific days (Jia Yin, Bing Chen, Wu Chen, Geng Chen, Ren Xu). However, the success or failure of the pattern highly depends on the combination of the four pillars and the avoidance of unfavorable luck cycles. The core idea is the manifestation of "De" (virtue)—bringing blessings through the characteristics of the day, but avoiding破坏 factors such as clashes and conflicts.
In modern society, the Rideku pattern can be interpreted as an analysis of personality traits: individuals born on these days may naturally possess亲和力, kindness, and leadership potential (e.g., the wood nature of Jia Yin Day symbolizing growth 🌱, the water nature of Ren Xu Day symbolizing包容🌊). However, "忌讳刑冲破害" reminds us that a smooth life requires avoiding external conflicts and internal pressures (such as workplace competition or interpersonal tensions). Wealth and Official Stars represent modern pursuits of career and wealth; if overly strong, they may disrupt balance, leading to stress or unexpected disasters.
From a scientific and rational perspective: This is not superstition but rather the ancient observation of the connection between personality and destiny. It can be analogized to the "Big Five Personality Traits" in psychology—the Rideku pattern resembles high agreeableness but requires environmental support to发挥优势. An empirical attitude encourages individuals to optimize decision-making through self-awareness (e.g., understanding their Bazi) rather than blind belief.
The Rideku pattern reflects the ancient Chinese philosophy of "harmony between heaven and humanity": the days are connected to the Five Elements (wood 🌱, fire 🔥, earth ⛰, water 🌊, etc.), emphasizing the harmony between inner virtue and the external environment. Critically, it also has historical limitations—such as the default gender being male (influenced by the patriarchal society of the past), which should be viewed equally in modern times. The essence lies in advocating kindness and balance, while the dross is the overreliance on fatalism. We can adopt the wisdom of "cultivating virtue and nurturing nature" while discarding the成分 of destiny, combining it with modern concepts of free will.
