Traditionally, there are two divisions:

One is Zi to Si as yang, Wu to Hai as yin (astronomical rhythm of winter solstice yang born, summer solstice yin born);

The other is Yin to Wei as yang, Shen to Chou as yin (wood and fire as yang, metal and water as yin).

Section 2 | Attributes of Hai Water

Zodiac: Pig

Outwardly round, inwardly straight, governing tolerance and endurance. Appears honest and simple, but is actually sensitive and delicate, good at "silently accumulating power", releasing at the right time.
Month: Lunar October (Early Winter)

Yang qi hides, yin qi gradually prevails, all things converge and enter storage. The corresponding temperament is restraint, review, replenishment, and long-termism.
Time: Hai Hour (21:00–23:00)

V. Harm (Injury): Shen-Hai Harm

One sentence first: Shen-Hai harm = same qi attraction with side injury. Shen has Ren that can "generate" Hai, but also uses Geng metal to "side harm" Jia wood in Hai; overall, it is a pattern of harm with generation, moving but not severely damaging.

- Too much water then wood is "soaked", moist and prone to decay (physiologically like "over-wet" image, conceptual description).
