Overall Meaning
People travel for fame and fortune, yet the journey is unpredictable with potential dangers 🌪️. When divining, the Self Line (世爻) should be the primary basis for judgment.
A strong Self Line favors travel 🚀, while an empty Response Line (应爻) suggests stopping 🛑.
The Self Line represents the traveler. If it is prosperous and energetic, it is auspicious. If it moves and transforms auspiciously or into an Offspring Line, it is even more favorable 🎯. If it is dormant, empty, or broken, or moves and transforms inauspiciously, travel is not advisable ❌. The Response Line represents the destination or travel companions. If it is empty, broken, tomb-bound, or exhausted, or moves and transforms into exhaustion or is countered, the journey will be futile.
If the Self Line overcomes the Response Line, travel is favorable regardless of distance ✅. If the Response Line overcomes the Self Line, both personal and official matters will be unfavorable ⚠️.
If "I overcome them" (Self Line overcomes Response Line), the direction is clear and accessible 🌉. If the Response Line punishes, clashes, or overcomes the Self Line, travel is not advisable 🚫.
In a pure hexagram with chaotic movement, every aspect is unfavorable 🔥. If both intermediate lines are empty, traveling alone is auspicious 🌟.
In a clash hexagram or one that transforms into a clash, if the Self Line is dormant and overcome, the journey will ultimately not happen. Even if attempted, it will end unsuccessfully, with obstacles from start to finish 🌀.
The two intermediate lines represent travel companions or those who join the journey. If they move and overcome the Self Line, harm will surely follow 😨. If they move and align with the Sibling Line, financial loss will occur 💸. If they generate or harmonize with the Self Line, it is auspicious 🤝. A still line encountering a day clash will surely move ⚡. A moving line meeting a combination will be detained 🔒.
If the Self Line moves covertly, the journey will happen. If the Self Line is strong and still, it will move on the day it is clashed 📅. If the Self Line moves and combines, or is combined by the day, month, or moving lines, obstacles will detain the traveler 🔄.

Example: On the day Jichou in the month of Hai, a friend asked about the auspiciousness of their parents traveling to Hainan. The hexagram obtained was Mountain over Thunder (Shan Lei Yi) transforming into Earth over Earth (Kun Wei Di).

In a hidden reversing hexagram, if the Self Line moves, the journey will happen on the day the combination is broken 📆. In a reversing hexagram, the traveler may turn back mid-journey. If the Self Line is clashed and overcome, it is highly inauspicious 💥. In a clash hexagram, if the Self Line is still or empty, the journey will not happen 🚷. If the Self Line enters the tomb and is dormant, it is an omen of not returning 👻.
A combination hexagram transforming into a clash is inauspicious ❌. A clash hexagram transforming into a combination is favorable ✅.
