II. Offspring

In the hexagram, if there is no Offspring line, or if the Offspring line encounters emptiness, absolute extinction, or month defeat, or if the Wealth line carries the Solitude Star, Widowhood Star, or Heavenly Dog Star and activates, or if the hexagram is pure yang or pure yin throughout, in all such cases it indicates failure to bear children.

If the Offspring line and the Womb line are both present, there will be children. If Offspring transforms into Ghost, or if the Womb line sits with Parents, there will be children who are difficult to raise. If there is a Womb line without an Offspring line, the result is pregnancy without live birth (miscarriage). If there is an Offspring line without a Womb line, it denotes issues of concubine origin or adopted heirs. If the Offspring line occupies a yang position, predominantly sons are born; if yin, predominantly daughters.
